The protected harbor of Great Sodus Bay creates a perfect location for family fun on the water. Settled in 1794 and lying halfway between Rochester and Oswego, this little known harbor is often referred to as the Crown Jewel of Lake Ontario. When the wind is from the north the water of the bay is calm and when the wind is from the south the water of the lake is calm, giving boaters a place to have fun on most all occasions. From the state park and beach on Lake Ontario to fishing, sailing, motor boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming or just exploring or relaxing this is the destination that your family could be enjoying every weekend of the summer.
